Hello subscribers! Thank you for sticking with me this year and following all of these adventures. I truly appreciate your support and hope some of these newsletters have inspired you to have your own adventures this year. It’s hard to believe it’s already November and 2021 is coming to a close.

I recently had a friend start working for a company called HipCamp and she gifted me with a credit to try out their service. If you’ve never heard of HipCamp, it’s similar to Airbnb, but the accommodations range from Treehouses and teepees to open land in someone’s backyard. Some locations are primitive with no amenities and others provide access to acres of private land. The prices range from $10 a night to $300 depending on the level of luxury you’re looking for. You can also search for dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible properties. HipCamp is also looking for hosts so if you or someone you know has access to the type of properties they are looking for, then this site may be a great way to make extra money!

I wanted to stay close to home so we decided to book a safari tent at Glamping Canyonlands, which is right outside of the Needles District of Canyonlands near Moab, Utah. Since we only booked one night, we drove out to Moab on Friday and car camped on BLM near Marlboro Point where we watched the sun set over the canyon and rise the next morning. It was definitely chilly at night, but there are no more fire restrictions which made the hours after the sun went down more bearable.

The next morning we woke up and had breakfast at Love Muffin Cafe, which is one of my favorite easy breakfast spots in Moab. Then we headed towards the Needles District, which is about an hour outside of Moab. We stopped at the Hole in the Rock to visit their petting zoo with my daughter and is a great, somewhat kitschy tourist attraction. Make sure you spring for the bucket of food to feed the animals as they certainly appreciate the treats. Afterwards we headed towards the Needles District and saw Glamping Canyonlands off the road on our way into the park. This is a great location if you want to spend time in this area of Canyonlands although services are limited here. The closest grocery store is in Monticello, so I recommend stocking up on all the food and ice you’ll need, before you stay if you choose to Glamp here.
