Hello to my loyal subscribers! Whether you are a founding or monthly member, I’m so grateful you are here. It’s because of you I am inspired to travel and seek out destinations for you and give you more in-depth detail on my trips.

I just recently got back from a trip to Ireland and I wanted to share a few insights that made our travel easier, and I hope it will for you as well, even if Ireland isn’t your destination.

First, we originally booked a hotel outside the city of Dublin, which was a mistake. We quickly saw where we were on the map and rebooked. I typically book all my hotels on expedia. I love expedia because they have options for hotels where you can reserve now and pay when you get there. They also give you reward points and have very generous cancellation policies. The hotel we booked we didn’t have to pay until we arrived, which worked great because I shared the cost with my mom.

One of the things you realize when traveling abroad, is often the hotel rooms are small. We wanted a room that slept 4 and found the Academy Plaza Hotel had the best room set up. The room we booked was considered a family room and had one queen bed and two single beds. This way, my mom and daughter could have their own bed. If you book directly on their site you can have breakfast included. If you book on expedia you can add breakfast in at a cost. We didn’t really care about breakfast so we didn’t purchase it and you’ll find there are lots of cafe’s around the hotel. The only review we read which was true was that the WiFi wasn’t that great and only worked in one spot in our room. There is also no mini fridges. However, the staff was nice and the building was secure and also within walking distance to everything including meeting our tour bus!
