It’s not secret that Colorado is known for its skiing. There are so many resorts to choose from and the surrounding resorts and mountain towns make it so enticing to book a trip. However, not everyone can ski or afford to so what can you do in winter instead?
I’ve compiled my Colorado Winter Bucket list for those who want nothing to do with skiing.
Go for an ice skate: I’ve talked about my favorite wild ice skates in a previous post but if you’re not up for a hike or want an outdoor skating area that you know is safe I highly recommend Evergreen Lake. One thing to keep in mind is ice skating outdoors is entirely dependent on weather conditions. I have been to Evergreen Lake before where they closed it as the temps began to rise and the ice started to warm. I also advise brining your own ice skates if possible, because the rental process can take awhile. However, we skated here one Christmas Eve and it was a magical family adventure that none of us will forget!
