Where to go near Moab that's NOT Moab
One of my favorite areas of Utah is Castle Valley. Located outside of Moab off scenic byway 128, this area is perfect for climbing, hiking, camping, floating the river and getting away from the crows of the nearby National Parks. I took off last week on a quick jaunt to the desert for a dog and kid-friendly hike that makes for the perfect adventure if you’re only looking to hike 1-2 hours.
